Le Thu Phan-Tran
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Born in the outskirts of Viet Nam, Le arrived in Australia as a 13-year-old boat refugee in 1982. Le grew up in Perth, completed her secondary education at St Thomas Aquinas, and then graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Health Information Management) in 1991. She is currently the Health Information Manager at Glengarry Private Hospital.

In 2008, while working at Mercy Hospital Mt. Lawley (now St. John of God), Le was nominated to attend the Catherine McCauley Award Programme – Developing Women in Leadership and Service – for Young Women under 40. After a year of listening and learning from inspiring and like-minded women from all around the world, this sparked the beginning of a new journey in her life.

As a child, Le Thu experienced living in an orphanage centre run by her parents, so she has always felt a sense of closeness to orphaned children. It is because of her own childhood memories and former hardships of life, that the orphaned children are especially dear and precious to her.

Her mission is to help as many as she can, little by little. She continues to live by Mother Teresa’s words, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one”.
